These egg shapers work well and are a good purchase for the price. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your shapers and make your experience as mess free as possible . . .1) Before use, coat the inside of the shapers with butter, cooking oil or spray. This will help prevent your eggs from sticking to the ring and also help prevent the egg from seeping into the crevice where the ring joins the handle.2) Use a thin (steak or plastic) knife to separate the egg from the ring when cooking, instead of attempting to “shake” the egg a loose. (I suggest a plastic knife if you are using a Teflon or otherwise coated skillet!)3) DO NOT soak the rings in water for an extended period of time in order to clean them. They may develop rust! A modest amount of soaking time in warm, soapy water and gentle scrubbing with a dishtowel will do the trick.4) In order to clean the crevice (that will inevitably have some egg in it), gently “floss” the crevice using the edge of your

    Not so non-stick egg rings.
Rings must be greased every time they are used,
also egg gets stuck in the gap where the handle is attached,
    difficult to clean out.

I had the old fashion regular metal egg rings and I had to spray them with Pam to keep the eggs from sticking to them. Not anymore these are wonderful and the handles fold flat for easy storage. Excellent product I would highly recommend it.

Basically, they worked but the coating (apparently NOT a non-stick coating) soon chipped off after minimal use. The egg easily seeps out from under the ring. This item was found in a local bed and bath, etc store, but is not worth the purchase price.

I had a set of these. The egg ran out through the gap. I also had the problem with the egg sticking to the rings and in the gap. Yes, I sprayed them first with cooking spray even though they say non-stick. The coating also came off while soaking. I am looking for a better product. The only plus was the cool to the touch handles. Yes, I agree …. you get what you pay for. Junk!
