I have a pineapple guava I’d bough that was about 2 feet tall, and it’s been pretty low maintenance and good for the end of the flower bed. I trim it once or twice a year and it’s pretty easy to trim. It is slow growing. I just bought another one from Amazon (Hirts), and it was delivered very quickly and the plant is in great shape. The only thing I was a bit disappointed was that the plant was only 8-10 inches tall! Oh well. At least it’s perfectly healthy.

A few days ago, I bought some of this plants. Now I have them in my aquarium. My girfriend, me and our visitors, enjoy daily this product. My goldfishes also enjoy them everyday. Excellent product !!!!!

Plants look so very realistic! Outstandingly beautiful and so easy to install and clean.
Only complain I have a about is that both Plant’s size it’s extremely alike. One is huge while the other is tiny, i wasn’t expecting such big difference since it is not specified in the description. Box simply states “Medium” size, and actually I consider one as “big”, and the other as “small”.

Besides that, they defenitely improved my aquarium appealing… everybody loves it now, specially my fish! =D

This is a winner. I love how the weighted bottom makes cleaning the tank super easy. When you suction the bottom of the tank, you don’t have to try to reanchor them when you are done. I did end up trimming off some of the branches to make them fit in the tank but that’s because I had a lot going on in the tank. I have puffers and wanted lots of foliage for them to hide from each other if they get aggressive. These are perfect.

These plants look real and stay where they are placed. They can also be trimmed if too long and still look good. I don’t even have a biorb – I use them in different setups and I love them!

Firstly, I’ve never grown Passion Flower but have started many other plants from seed. I planted the seeds a few weeks ago and no sign of life yet. After doing some further research, these are not these easiest to germinate. So we’ll see if they work. For the price it was the try. The free seeds however are all sprouting. For the price and the quick shipment (and free seeds) I’m giving four stars. Just do your research on tips to grow before planting.

I bought this item to water some balcony plants I had while I took a 2 week vacation. I had no power outlets, so its battery-driven design seemed great. Well, I am reporting back that this product is in fact not so great. Its construction is rather flimsy, with less plastic than your average painters bucket. The brains of the thing are held on a 1×1 inch chip attached to a flimsy dial. The hose and drippers are not particularly impressive either. This is all well and good, and I didn’t care how thick the plastic is, but it didn’t really work well! There were caveats to get the water flowing about removing air from the line, which was difficult for some reason, and the flow dynamics of this unit just weren’t good. I had it situated on a table about 3ft off the ground to water some ground-level herbs. I returned from my trip to find a wilted array of plants.

Look elsewhere for your automatic watering needs. That is my take.

I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago when I went out of town for a week. Seemed to work pretty well. Soil was moist but not soaking wet.

The purpose of this system is to water your potted plants when you are away. I used it for plants under an outdoor porch. Because my plants were large and high, I mounted a small shelf high up on the wall of the porch, then placed the reservoir on the shelf, filled it with water and set it to 20 days. It worked very well. All plants survived a very hot and dry 2 weeks with one exception: A begonia received too much water!

Pros. The watering system sets up easily as long as you read the instructions and mount it high enough so gravity plays its part appropriately. Keep a record of how you place your plants if you plan to use the system more than once, because once you cut the hose, you are locked into that configuration. Once setup, the system is very reliable.

Cons. It would help if one could adjust the amount of water dispensed individually for each plant. Right now you can only adjust levels by adding or subtracting drippers. If you have plants that need less water than one dripper will dispense, you are stuck. It would also help if the documentation specified the hose type or offered a way to purches additional hoses so one can create several configurations as the plants come and go.

Conclusion: A product worth the money if you value your planst and like to travel.

After searching Internet for a long time to find a watering system, I decided to risk $80 and buy this one. And what a wonderful surprise – after 32 days, all plants were thriving! I used the 30 day setting with 18 drippers and there was still some water left at the bottom. Throughout my vacation I was worried about my plants – in spite of reading positive reviews on Amazon, I was still a bit concerned, since 30 days is a long time, especially in summer.
Here are some tips for people who are using this system for the 1st time:
    1. The 10/20/30/40 day settings actually mean this: “If the tank is full, this system will empty it through 20 drippers in that much time”.
    2. 30 day setting with 20 drippers will release just a bit too much water for small plants (6″ pot or so)
    3. Even if you’re away only 10 days, it’s ok to use 30 day setting, even with all drippers used – that releases plenty of water
    4. Make sure to follow instructions on expelling all air from the hose
    5. Do not let any dirt or larger particles into the tank
    6. Make sure the plants are in the shade, at least most of the day
    7. 2 drippers/30 day program are enough even for a small tree (I have 4 pine trees, 4-7′ tall)

I was so glad to find all plants safe after my long trip; even though I could’ve maybe asked a friend, it was worth $80 to avoid asking for such favors.

We’re always in the market for unusual fruit trees and shrubs for our farm. After reading about pineapple guava we had to give it a try. We purchased two plants because they produce more fruit if cross polination is available. Our trees survived several hard freezes, into the teens, their first winter. We did cover them with buckets on the coldest nights. There was little growth in the spring and we worried about how they would do when our hot/dry summer finally began. We were suprised when, during the heat of summer, the little plants suddenly began to thrive. One of the trees which was planted in rich soil doubled in size. The other, with a less favorable location (planted in clay soil) grew as well, but not so much as the other. We did water them occassionally even though dry weather never really seemed to effect them. The plants are two years old now and doing very well. We hope to get fruit in two or three years.

Such a simplistic solution — very innovative and creative. Works Great. So much easier than ties, fish wire or the like.
